OVER AND OUT

Call for submissions

HI FRIENDS,

it’s been a minute! How y’all been?

We’ve been on hiatus for most of 2019, but we would never miss the chance to celebrate a fourth year of resistance to #45 with you!

Experimental Response Cinema seeks experimental film and video works for OVER AND OUT, its fourth annual filmic celebration of resistance to the policies of our current presidential administration.

Following F*CK TR*MP (2016), TR*MP TH*S! (2017), and WAKE AMERICA! (2019), we again invite short films that respond to the crises catalyzed by this president–imagining a different society or critiquing the one we’re in.

Works may engage with issues such as: racism, sexism, homophobia, religious intolerance, suppression of immigration and rights of asylum, civil and human rights violations, environmental degradation, kleptocracy, Wall Street malfeasance, gun violence, corruption, voter suppression, foreign intervention in elections and political campaigns, the de-funding of health care and income inequality—not to mention buffoonery, narcissism, obsessive twittery and impeachment!

Cathartic as well as a call to action, this screening of short films will address the current political landscape in ways both playful and incisive. With it, we affirm creativity as a vital and needed clapback to lies, greed, bigotry and ignorance.

Works need not be new. There is no submission fee.

To submit, send an email to admin@ercatx.org with:

a 2-3 sentence description

a link to a screener of your work and

a password (if necessary) by December 30, 2019

DEADLINE EXTENDED TO JANUARY 6, 2020!

Artists will be notified of acceptance in the screening program by January 13, 2020 mid January 2020. Date and time of the event TBA; donations that evening will once again benefit Refugee Services of Texas.
